What This Upgrade Does
We replace the factory-installed GDDR6 memory modules with higher-density parts to achieve 16 GB VRAM. This helps with high-resolution textures, large timelines in creative apps, AI workloads, and future game updates that demand more memory.
What’s Included
- Board-level removal of original VRAM and installation of higher-capacity GDDR6 modules (BGA rework).
- Required firmware/BIOS configuration so the card correctly enumerates 16 GB.
- Thermal paste refresh and thermal pad inspection/replacement where needed around the memory area.
- Functional and stability testing (bench + stress) to validate VRAM integrity.
Compatibility & Notes
- Supported on select RTX 3070 8 GB reference-like PCBs and certain AIB layouts only. We confirm compatibility during diagnosis.
- Upgrade may require VBIOS configuration; RGB/fan curves/monitoring may behave differently depending on the vendor firmware.
- Factory overclock headroom and power limits are not guaranteed to remain identical after the upgrade.
- Cards with prior severe liquid/physical damage may be ineligible.
Service Cost
Pricing depends on the card variant and memory component availability. Replacement parts are billed separately and quoted before work proceeds. Our Diagnostics / No-Fix fee policy applies if the upgrade cannot be completed.
Turnaround
Normal repairs follow our standard timeline (typically 15–30 days). If you need it sooner, choose Priority Service for a 1–15 day target, subject to complexity and parts availability.
Warranty
Workmanship and replaced memory components are covered under our standard 90-day repair warranty. The warranty does not cover unrelated faults or modifications performed after delivery.
